Welcome to Our School

Brooksville Elementary is a school that is rich in tradition.  Located next door to Hernando High School, and just blocks from Downtown Brooksville, we are a true community school that thrives on family and community involvement.  As a member of leopard nation, our roots run deep with purple and gold. 

At BES we believe that families are a vital part of any child’s education and we pride ourselves in having a family inclusive environment.  We encourage parent involvement and invite families to participate together on campus for different events such as Double AR Reading Nights, Publix Math Night, and our annual Leopard family BBQ Bash. Parents and families are always welcomed at BES! 

At BES we utilize a school-wide house system where all students and adults on campus are sorted into one of six houses. Each house is named after a character trait; Compassion, Loyalty, Perseverance, Courage, Integrity, and Authenticity. Students have the opportunity to wear their house colors weekly for “House Wednesday”, earn points for their house through various competitions and activities, and learn what these character traits mean in order to incorporate them into their lives. The experiences learned through our house system lead to a learning environment where mutual respect is valued by students and teachers.

For our 2026-2027 school year we are focusing on being DRIVEN. Driven by Purpose. Driven to Succeed. We will dive into the DRIVEN acronym (Determined, Responsible, Integrity, Versatile, Empowered, and Never. Give. Up) this year in every aspect of our school.We will teach our students and faculty & staff that being DRIVEN is a motto that they can carry over into life outside of school.
